Numa Sato
Description: Long green hair, purple eyes, tanned skin.
Speaks English but has an accent. Also seems quiet at first.
Numa had a pretty normal childhood. Parents and a younger sibling who all loved her and she loved them. They grew up poor but were still able to make ends meet and get by just fine. Numa even started working at a young age that most to help her family. It started off as odd jobs around the neighborhood, then progressed to helping in the little grocery store or clothing shops near by. Nothing that gave paycheck though, but it worked. They could however, afford television and her favorite things to watch were the high adrenaline situations and the needed the big guns to do the dirty work or even just to de- escalate the situations. Even having snipers and other heavy duty men on stand by thrilled her. She figures about 85-90% of the situations people come out unharmed, etc. But that other 10-15%, there's never not a casualty. Whether it's an officer or the one who caused everything. There were many instances where the sniper had to make an almost impossible shot, but did it in the end. And those always stuck out with Numa.
After a while, it became a dream of hers to become a sniper. Maybe even train to be in the special forces one day, or freelance if that doesn't work out. Money's money. When she was old enough though, and had set aside enough money for herself, she bought herself her first rifle. She sure did her research on what she wanted, too. So when she wasn't working, or helping her family, she was out in the outskirts of town, practicing and training herself how to use it.
Some years had passed and she actually got pretty good at it. from shooting cans or bottles in really tricky spots, to even the rats that ran around there, she always hit the mark. The more she trained though, the more she missed hanging out wither her best friend and childhood friend, Ramos (or Rams as she always called him). They did almost everything together as kids, but it started to lessen when his parents got him to focus on his studies more to become a doctor that our area really needed. He'd be out here with her though while she practiced, which got them into some trouble a time or two. But it all took a standstill when school was finished and he went off to university or college.
Her moment of reminiscing about the past was interrupted when she heard clapping behind her. She quickly spun around with a dagger drawn in a defensive stance, only to find, it was an older retired cop and sniper she recognized from the group she was training for. And it did look like he had seen some rough times, but he became a cop after. He was clapping because he was really impressed with her shots. After she calmed down, he convinced her to try out. He gave her a card to call and everything she needed to get started. At that point, she bound home in so much excitement. But when she reached her street, she was greeted with more cops. She saw her aunt and uncle outside talking with them with broken expressions on their faces. They saw Numa and her aunt burst out out in more tears with her husband consoling her. She always thought Numa looked just like her mother when she was young.
Numa slowly approached the house, then suddenly she was tightly embraced by her aunt. “I'm so sorry, Numa…” was all Aunt Talia would keep repeating. One of the officers had come up to her and said the words she was afraid to hear, “I'm sorry young lady, but your parents were killed in a mugging gone wrong…” Time felt like it stood still for her, what felt like forever but was only moments, until all she saw was black as she fell to the ground and silent tears streaming down her cheeks.
Next thing she knew, she was waking up in a hospital bed. She layed in that bed for a while, still processing what had happened. coming home with great news just to be greeted with death. Right at that moment though she decided she wasn't gunna try out…but instead opting to hunt down whomever was responsible.
She her little brother inevitably moved in with her aunt and uncle after she was released from the hospital. She was old enough to live on her own but had decided to stay with her family and help where she can…though she did run into someone she didn't think she'd see in a long time. Rams…he was training under another doctor that happened to be the one treating her. They had a long talk before she left too.
Sadly, she spent years trying to find out who had done it to her parents. The only thing she found out was that it wasn't just an average mugging that happens way more often than they should. So it made her thing it was someone untouchable. Which also made her wonder what her parents could have done to get that attention. Regardless, she still searched, following lead after lead, doing odd bounty jobs after another to try and get more cues. Though, the more jobs she did, the more often she had to get stitched up or mended up after some rougher patches during said jobs. And who did she always seek out for this medical attention? Rams of course. She discovered that after a few visits to his personal practice that he was getting pushed around by a small gang that was near by. And the law enforcement didn't want to get involved.
During one of her visits, they barged in, demanding things, harassing the staff, normal gang stuff. And before Rams compiled with anything they demanded, Numa got irritated by them and when they tried touching her, thinking she was some innocent girl, she retaliated. She grabbed her dagger and shoved it up under his chin, into his skull, instantly killing him. Turned out that was their “leader”. She threatened the others, and they never looked back.
Once all was said and done, Rams promised that if she ever needed any help or fixing up, to just come to him whenever she needed, and it would be free. So they spent a good amount of time together again after that.
Eventually, Rams introduced her to someone who could may give her more fresh jobs to get more clues. Whether it was assassinations, scouting/recon, etc. Maybe she'll come even closer to finding out who killed her parents and what they did to deserve such a death.
